MARS™ (Multimedia Application Routing Server)  


The MARS™ (Multimedia Application Routing Server) is the world's first system that integrates and delivers advanced video processing, distributed audio mixing and seamless data sharing over IP networks.

MARS™ forms the core of Bada Networks' IP Multimedia Converged Communication System for collaborative environments.  It performs the essential mediation compression, transcoding, optimization, and routing for collaboration sessions.  Multiple MARS™ nodes form peer-to-peer networks to reliably support a large number of users.  In conjunction with Bada Networks'  Venus client software, the MARS™ networks dynamically maintain the networks' status, discovers new end systems and sets up multi-point sessions on-demand.

Based on leading edge digital signal processing technology, a hardened Linux kernel, and Bada Networks' patented compressed video routing protocol, MARS™ delivers multi-path video routing and on-demand resource reservation to deliver the most reliable experience for the users.  This means MARS™ is capable of supporting mission-critical collaborative environments such as Disaster Incident Management by Public Safety organizations as well as overcome the scalability challenges of the Social Computing environment.

MARS™ supports a wide range of devices with different resolutions and connection bandwidth, and dynamically adjusts traffic and content to optimize the video quality to each individual device and the visual experience for each user.
