Bada Networks Virtual Command Center

Bada Networks' Virtual Command Center (VCC) is a telepresence solution for emergency and incident management. The solution enables command centers to facilitate and coordinate a geographically distributed team to share information, plan logistics, make decisions, deploy resources and coordinate activities.

The VCC solution leverages Bada Networks' Real-Time Multimedia collaboration infrastructure to facilitate video surveillance feeds, streaming video, still photos and other data to be shared in real-time among the team. Coordination can be accomplished via a combination of data, voice as well as real-time multiple-way video collaboration.

The VCC is designed to display on multiple monitors to facilitate a "Like Being There" virtual environment. As illustrated below, there are video feeds of a fire disaster, maps & photos of the disaster location, and an integrated video collaboration session among the personnel involved.

It is important to point out that with Bada Networks' solution, the personnel in dispersed locations may access the relevant information from a variety of devices, from a conference facility, in-vehicle computers, desktop PCs to hand-held devices. The Bada Networks networking technology provides the necessary advanced data/audio/video processing and routing to deliver the most reliable and effective real-time experience to the personnel involved.

The incident management team can selectively view information from the disaster scene, gather and share information from multiple agencies across multiple jurisdictions, and share information and facilitate collaboration among all the participants (e.g. federal and state police, fire department, and emergency medical and rescue personnel.)

Emergency Broadcast

The Emergency Broadcast feature provides instant communication with users on the associated collaboration network. When an Emergency Broadcast is initiated, a notice is send to the end-station with audio alarms. The system interrupts other non-emergency collaboration sessions temporarily and connects all online personnel to the broadcast session.

During the broadcast, the initiator can select and invite participation among the online personnel for interactive communication while others would remain in listening mode.

The Emergency Broadcast feature can only be activated by authorized personnel. It is protected by Bada Networks' Access Control and Auditing software built into the system.
